Passion Projects
Ah, all the things I’ve done just because.
Fun fact, I used to be an event photographer. Even though I fell out of love with that work, I did realize I loved discovering, showcasing, and connecting dope creatives. Before I knew what a brand partnership was or worked on big events, I was doing pop-ups for the creative community across Brooklyn and the city. To this day I still remain tight with the people I met during that time—and I plan on getting back to my roots :).
Creative Pop-ups
During the same time I was doing pop-ups, I ran an instagram page called Soul Elevated. In hindsight that was a terrible name, but was beautifully and masterfully curated by moi. That page was a bridge that allowed me to meet incredible emerging artists across the globe. As the super fan and champion I was, I developed awesome and genuine relationships with those creatives. From the girl on Instagram with the retro page, I would become the girl people would call (at all kinds of hours) to bounce concepts off of or get business advice from. I was not nearly as talented as the artists I got to know, but for some reason they valued my listening ear and input. So I got to at least influence a few dope projects—like my friend’s campaign with Apple. Happy to see the homies go do awesome things. I guess you could say I’m a homie-confidant-friend.
Creative Confidant
I really connect with storytelling. In the past I’ve picked up my pen to contribute to CRWN Magazine, MTV Voices, and Entrepreneur college column. Why I stopped that stuff, I don’t know, but I know I will get back to it.
